Kt Anime
I'm very tired, so I'm going to make this short & hopefully elaborate later.

Anime Boston was awesome. I got the autograph of one awesome voice actress, and got my photo taken with another. Both were extremely sweet & awesome.

(Ashe - I SWEAR I didn't forget about your request, but unfortunately I didn't get to meet Brad Swaile. I'm very sorry!)

I strted reading & hot hooked on two new series: 'Tsubasa' & 'xxxHolic'. I also got video footage of two events: 'Anime Unscripted', and 'Human Cosplay Chess', which Chris was in. I am in the process of making copies for people.

That's it for now - there's a LOT more going in, but I've been physically exhausted for at least a week, and don't want to be on the comp long. I promise, more info later!

NarutoLaugh
In my usual search of misc. 'Naruto Shippuuden' information, I found a site that has manga chapters that haven't even come out in the U.S. yet. So naturally, of course, I just had to take a look!

So (refusing to talk about my very long, very tiring, and very annoying school day), after getting home from Boston tonight & reading the manga chapters that I downloaded onto my laptop, I discovered that a long-standing suspicion of mine about my favorite blonde ninja actually proved true. Rather than just blurt it out excitedly like I'd like to, I want to give people a chance to turn away if they don't want to see any spoilers for the 'Naruto' or 'Naruto: Shippuuden' manga or anime series.

So - if you want to remain unspoiled & unsullied about a fun fact regarding a certain Rasengan-spinning, hot-headed ninja, I suggest you stop reading this blog post NOW.

My Message Board - ANOTHER PLUG!!!

Sparkly Blue Butterfly
Okay, I have yet another shameless plug... but I really want this one to work, so I hope you guys'll forgive me.

Until this morning, I'd completely forgotten all about the message board that I'd set up in December to discuss..... anything! Music, movies, anime, costumes, politics (bleh), school, books, and more! (hence, all of the diverse tags on this LJ entry) You could talk about anything you like there! It's kind of a way for me to try & get people to get together in one place to talk about things that are important to them. Yeah, I know - people have LJs or MySpaces or Facebooks for that..... but everyone has their own individual page, and this is one message board - a place for everything and everyone to come all together!
(...Maybe even a good place to promote a certain somewhat-punk recently-formed Bostonian theatre troupe? COUGH COUGH.....   ::wiggles her eyebrows at... someone:: )

If any of you guys still don't wanna join up, it's cool... but if anyone is willing, I'd really love to have at least one or two people willingly come on down & post some of their ideas/interests - but no pressure!
(I don't want any guilt/pity posts, lol)

So if anyone's interested, here's a link to my message board:
Click HERE to get there, and I hope I see a couple of you guys soon!

PS - You might have to create a screen name w/ 'Proboards' to be able to post there... but that's kinda standard for most message boards, anyway.

'Alice 19th' is the sh*t!!!

I went to Barnes & Noble today, to get some new manga, & decided to get vols. 2-5 of 'Alice 19th' (I found out there's 7 vol. in the series). I just finished reading #3 & now am in the middle of #4.
.......

*WOW*!!! This manga is frickin' awesome!!! I am soooooooo hooked on this series now, it's ridiculous. For anyone who wants to broaden their 'manga horizons' and/or likes fantasy, I *highly* recommend 'Alice 19th'.

But unfortunately I must end this LJ post premature, because I need to get some rest to take three finals tomorrow (BLEGH). At least tomorrow's my last day!

Oh, and I'm still sick - I haven't thrown up (again), but I keep having to blow my nose & my head & throat feel gross. Ugh. Sllleeeeeeeep!

Disney Manga, lalala.....

Okay - for anyone who's a manga (japanese comic/graphic novel) fan, the words 'Disney manga' might make you want to cringe. I mean, there are some die-hard manga fans out there who are extremely specific on what's technically manga, and what's not (anyone who's read 'Dramacon', vol 2, will especially know this, lol). I am not one of these people. To me, manga is manga. I mean, if it looks like a duck & sounds like a duck...

Anyway, I very recently discovered this new manga series by Disney, called 'Kilala Princess'. It's a tiny bit similar to 'Kingdom Hearts' (that's how I found it - looking up 'KH' stuff on Amazon.com), but it's described as " 'Kingdom Hearts' for girls" - which I resent a little bit, because I'm a *HUGE* 'KH' fan... but, I digress.

Here's the book description, courtesy of Amazon.com:
"When Kilala awakens a sleeping prince named Rei, she magically gains the power of the princesses! But her friend Erica is kidnapped, so she and Rei must set off on a quest to rescue her! Filled with the most popular Disney princesses--Ariel, Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White, Belle--TOKYOPOP's 'Kilala Princess' is the latest and one of the most anticipated Manga Readers series!"

Now, granted, this manga is aimed for younger readers (hence the 'manga readers' series), but I still can't help being curious & intrigued by it. I'm a little kid at heart, & have always loved the idea of a series of characters getting together for one movie/game/book.
Examples:
1) Muppet Family Christmas (muppets, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock - this was like 'kid heroin' to me, LOL)
2) Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (A scary movie for little kids, but all the cartoon chars at the end were totally worth it)
3) The Muppets Take Manhattan (Not only a muppet wedding, but Sesame Street muppets were there too! GWAK!)
4) Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 (Best. Video games. EVER.)

So when I heard that the Disney princesses would be in this manga, my interest immediately went, 'ZING!' For anyone who's curious, here's a link to the Amazon site:
Amazon.com: Kilala Princess Volume 1

I think I'm gonna check out Barnes & Noble when I get home from school & see if they have a copy there. If not,the only other place around Franklin (that I know of) that sells manga is Borders in North Attleboro. Bleh. But we'll see!

2pm EDIT:
Barnes & Noble didn't have 'Kilala Princess' (big shock) - but at least I picked up the newest 'Naruto' manga (#13) & 'Alice 19th' #1. I've never read 'Alice 19th' before, so here's hoping I like it!
